This policy explains how SiteRook may collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use siterook.com or our services.

1. Definitions

Company, we, us, or our refers to SiteRook. Website refers to siterook.com. Services may include website design, development, hosting, maintenance, e-commerce setup, SEO-related work, technical support, and other digital services. Personal Data means information that identifies or can reasonably be associated with an individual. Service Provider means a third party that performs services for us. Usage Data means technical or activity information collected when the Website is used.

2. Information We Collect

When you contact us, request a quote, submit a form, purchase a service, or work with us on a project, we may receive information such as your name, email address, business name, website address, project requirements, website materials, billing or transaction information, and anything else you choose to provide.

Most areas of the Website can be browsed without directly providing Personal Data. Certain information may be required when you request or purchase Services.

Payment Information

Payments may be handled by third-party payment processors. Those providers may collect billing, payment-method, identity, and transaction information under their own privacy policies and terms. SiteRook generally does not need to store complete card details when an independent payment provider processes the transaction.

Usage Data

Technical information may be collected automatically, including IP address, browser and device information, operating system, pages visited, visit times, referring pages, approximate location, device identifiers, and diagnostic or performance data. This information may be used to understand Website usage, improve performance, identify technical problems, and maintain security.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

SiteRook may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality, preferences, analytics, security, and measurement. If advertising or marketing tools are used, they may also use cookies or related technologies to understand visits or measure campaign performance.

You can usually control or delete cookies through your browser. Disabling some cookies may affect Website functionality.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to operate and maintain the Website, respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, communicate about projects, provide Services, design or maintain websites, process or administer payments, provide technical support, send project-related notices, manage client relationships, protect security, prevent fraud or misuse, diagnose problems, analyze Website use, improve our Services, keep records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements or policies.

Where required by law, promotional communications will only be sent with the appropriate consent or other lawful basis. You may ask us to stop marketing communications at any time.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell Personal Data. We may share information when reasonably necessary to run our business or provide Services, including with providers involved in hosting, domains, cloud infrastructure, security, WordPress, plugins, email, analytics, payments, invoicing, file storage, content delivery, maintenance, or other technical functions.

When SiteRook creates, hosts, migrates, maintains, or manages a client website, information may need to pass through third-party platforms required to perform that work.

Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, protect rights or property, investigate fraud or unlawful activity, protect security, safeguard users or the public, or establish or defend legal claims. We may also disclose information for another purpose with your authorization.

6. Third-Party Services

Our Website and Services may rely on independent third-party platforms, software, payment providers, hosting companies, registrars, analytics services, email services, security providers, WordPress services, or other online tools. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy practices. SiteRook is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third parties.

7. International Data Transfers

Service Providers may operate in different countries. As a result, information may be processed or stored outside the country in which you live. Where reasonably required, we will take appropriate steps to handle Personal Data consistently with this policy and applicable legal requirements.

8. Retention of Personal Data

We retain Personal Data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention may depend on the duration of a client relationship or project, contractual requirements, accounting or tax obligations, security needs, dispute resolution, legal obligations, and legitimate business recordkeeping. Some transaction, contract, payment, or legal records may need to be kept after a client relationship ends.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or information about certain uses of your Personal Data, and you may be able to object to certain processing or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. These rights may be subject to lawful exceptions.

To make a privacy request, contact info@siterook.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

10. Deleting or Correcting Personal Data

You may contact us to request correction or deletion of Personal Data you provided to SiteRook. We will consider requests under applicable law. Information may still be retained when reasonably necessary for legal obligations, financial or transaction records, fraud prevention, contract enforcement, dispute resolution, or legal claims.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. No Internet transmission, hosting platform, storage system, or security control can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Client Responsibility for Client Websites

This policy primarily applies to information collected by SiteRook through siterook.com and in connection with SiteRook's Services. Websites we create or maintain for clients are separate websites operated by those clients.

Unless otherwise expressly agreed, each client is responsible for deciding what data their website collects, providing an appropriate privacy policy, obtaining legally required cookie consent, complying with applicable privacy and data-protection rules, configuring analytics, marketing, payment, and tracking services appropriately, and responding to privacy requests from their own customers or visitors.

Providing website design, hosting, maintenance, or technical services does not by itself make SiteRook responsible for a client's privacy-law compliance.

13. Children's Privacy

SiteRook's Website and Services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data directly from children where parental consent would legally be required. If you believe a child has submitted information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review the situation.

14. Links to Other Websites

The Website may link to sites operated by third parties. If you follow an external link, the third party's terms, privacy policy, and security practices will apply. SiteRook does not control those independent websites.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the revised version will be published on this page. Unless otherwise stated or required by law, changes take effect when the revised policy is published.

16. Contact Us
